懐かしい風景｜大分県の高崎山の猿たち

日本猿の群れが見られることで有名な大分県の高崎山へ子供達を連れてきました。
たくさんの猿の群れがあちこちにいて、子育てをしている母子の猿たちが特に可愛い。
よく見るとそれぞれ個性があるのがわかります。

I took my kids to Takasakiyama in Oita Prefecture, which is famous for being able to see groups of Japanese macaques.
There were many groups of monkeys all over the place, and the mother monkeys raising their babies were especially cute.
If you look closely you can see that each one has its own personality.

猿の社会にもボスがいて、いくつかに分かれた群れをそれぞれ率いているそうです。
威張っている猿や愛想のいい猿、したたかな猿もいれば孤高の猿もいて個性は様々。
この猿たちも人とそんなに変わらないんだなぁと思わせてくれます。

Monkey society also has a boss, who leads each of the several groups.
There are a variety of personalities, from arrogant monkeys to sociable monkeys, shrewd monkeys and solitary monkeys.
It makes you realize that these monkeys are not so different from people.
