懐かしい風景｜門司港のネオルネサンス様式の木造駅舎

かつて九州の玄関口だった門司港駅の駅舎ができたのは大正3年（1914年）
その頃の最先端のデザインだったネオルネサンス様式の木造駅舎は今も残っています。
改装される前の昭和の頃の姿を残すためにスケッチしました。

Mojiko Station, once the gateway to Kyushu, was built in 1914.
The wooden neo-Renaissance style station building was cutting edge at the time and still remains today.
I sketched this to preserve how it looked in the Showa period before it was renovated.

かつてここからたくさんの人が日本各地や世界に向けて旅立ち、大勢の人が九州へとやってきました。
台湾から届いたバナナを売る「バナナの叩き売り」の掛け声は
今もこの地に残って名物となっています。

In the past, many people left here to travel to all parts of Japan and the world, and many came to Kyushu.
The call of the "banana seller" selling bananas from Taiwan
still remains in this area and has become a local specialty.
