日本の風景カレンダー｜鹿児島県種子島の千座の岩屋海水浴場

鹿児島県の南に浮かぶ種子島の海岸には「千座の岩屋」と呼ばれる洞窟があります。
海の波により作られたこの洞窟は千人座れるほど広いことからその名がついたそうです。
干潮の前後２時間だけは洞窟の奥まで入ることができて不思議な景色を味わえます。

On the coast of Tanegashima, an island south of Kagoshima Prefecture, there is a cave called "Chiza no Iwaya."
Created by the waves of the ocean, this cave is so large that it can seat a thousand people, which is why it got its name.
Two hours before and after low tide, you can enter the depths of the cave and enjoy the mysterious scenery.

近くには浜田海水浴場があり、夏になると多くの海水浴客や観光客で賑わいます。
